Kindness Within
Specialties
If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive.
- Trauma and Grief/Loss
- Trauma, including early childhood trauma, can impact the development of the brain. Learn techniques to help minimize long-term impact. I have extensive experience working with survivors of Developmental Trauma (Attachment), Sexual and Physical Abuse, Neglect, and Domestic Violence, as well as witnesses to violent crime.
- EMDR
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an empirically validated treatment approach with a range of client issues (particularly trauma related). It incorporates somatic, emotional, cognitive, and narrative elements, and can be more efficient that traditional talk therapy. It can be used with adults as well as children, and can set the groundwork for real healing and transformation.
- Self Awareness and Growth
- Develop self-awareness and learn tools to make the changes you want in your life. Better understand what is going on inside, and why we are often so hard on ourselves. Shining a light inside can build understanding, confidence, and true self-compassion. Therapy can help with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, fear, anger, relationship issues, guilt, and finding balance.
- Life Changes
- Transitions in life are hard. Life after divorce, marriage, the death of a loved one, having or losing a child, infertility, going back to school, illness, or any big change can be challenging. Get the support you need to develop compassion, build clarity and insight, and come out the other side stronger.
